ABSTRACT
The problems of the Shore family are common ones. Among them are unemployment, illness, and the worrisome behavior of the children. What is uncommon is that despite the frequent help from various social services, the problems never get resolved and the family members never seem to function free from symptoms. Individually and collectively, their lives are marked by crisis and emotional distress.
