ABSTRACT
Perhaps more than any other theory or model of clinical social work, the behavioral approach comes closest to following the tradition in our profession of striving for a person-in-environment perspective. It focuses upon enhancing the transactions that occur between individuals and their environments, upon improving the life skills of clients (which is designed to elicit a more favorable environment), and upon direct interventions that are designed to alter environments.
