ABSTRACT

The notes in a catalog record convey information about various aspects of the publication described, including publishing and issuing information, indexing and supplementary material, numbering, sources of information, and so on. For serials in electronic format, in addition to all of this information, they also provide clarification of the item’s location and means of access, its file structure and system requirements, its relationship to other publications, and more. This compilation presents common examples and variations of notes presently found in records for remote access computer file serials.
