ABSTRACT

The engineering literature is notable for its sheer size and for the multiple formats it encompasses. Engineers, researchers, and engineering students present a challenging user group because of their diverse and often interdisciplinary information needs. The articles in this volume examine current practices for providing access to engineering information resources, both print and electronic, and look at website development, and instructional and management issues in engineering library settings. Using experience drawn primarily from academic engineering libraries, these papers transcend that venue to provide insights applicable across the sciences and to corporate settings.
