ABSTRACT

This article describes strategies for developing a collection to support engineering programs that are new to the campus. The focus is on small to medium-sized institutions and the primary materials covered are reference sources; current and retrospective monographs; serials including periodicals, conference proceedings and annuals; and other specialized materials. Discussions of the environment, funding, assessment, and the possible impact on other library services are also included.
