ABSTRACT

Access to international resources is important to researchers in science and technology. Often these resources are government reports, publications from international agencies and associations and conferences. Many of these resources are difficult to obtain or borrow in an efficient manner. While various organizations have attempted to collect in problem areas, a number of subjects and format types are still problematic. The need for international resources is reviewed and several international collection projects are described. Agriculture and transportation provide two case studies to indicate the strengths and weaknesses of their collection strategies.
