This essay would never have been written without many years of support from my friend, colleague, and editor, Andrew Samuels. Andrew’s psychological, polymorphous diversity allowed many of us to open up to the diversity of our own psyches, including deep engagement and consideration of politics as part of being ‘Jungian.’ Without Andrew’s passion and encouragement, I know that my own vision would not have found expression.
