The integrity of the supervisor and the sins of psychotherapy supervision

The supervisor of someone learning to do depth psychotherapy is expected to share more than just a complement of skills. The supervisor is also required to embody what he or she would be like if acting in the role of therapist. Enacting the part of a role model, however, has a tendency to bring out not only the virtues, but also the sins of the supervisor.
