ABSTRACT

the term Wa-Sanye is a name which Swahili-speaking Kenyans apply to the speakers of at least two different languages or dialects in the north-eastern part of their country; it is with oniy one of these two languages that I am concerned in this article, and that is the language of a small tribe who refer to themselves as Dahalo. The other language with which I am concerned here is the one which is spoken by the click-speaking Sandawe of central Tanzania.
