ABSTRACT

The cataloging and acquisitions departments at the University of Texas at Dallas were merged in August 2005 to form a unified technical services department. This presentation, given at the 2006 NASIG Annual Conference, details the process of the reorganization. The presenters summarized the lessons learned for the consideration of other institutions that may be planning to reorganize. Although the two departments have successfully merged, a new division has formed between the staff working on electronic resources and those working on print resources, doi: 10.1300/J123v52n03_10 [Article copies available for a fee from The Haworth Document Delivery Service: 1-800-HAWORTH.
