ABSTRACT

The process of mapping license language to electronic resource management systems can be time-consuming and complex. Electronic resource license language, particularly terms of use, can be difficult to interpret. Using the Digital Library Federation’s Electronic Resource Management Initiative’s (ERMI) comprehensive data dictionary and logical data structure, participants in this preconference mapped terms of use in real-life licenses to ERMI License Elements Worksheets. Through the hands-on exercises and with the guidance of licensing experts, participants learned the necessary steps to prepare the terms of use for input into an electronic resource management system. doi:10.1300/J123v52n01_04 [Article copies available for a fee from The Haworth Document Delivery Service: 1-800-HAWORTH.
