ABSTRACT

SUMMARY. This article, offers a description of the varied functions which well-directed post-legal adoption services can provide for all members of the adoption triad. Adoptive parents, adopted children or adults, and birthparents experience life-long issues and concerns peripheral to the adoption arrangement. These can be positively addressed and alleviated through knowledgeable and timely intervention, through support and problem-solving expertise. Adoptive families are currently built in many ways. It has become widely accepted that informed post-legal adoption services are a must for all child welfare agencies involved with adoption.
