ABSTRACT

The public interest in understanding the difficulties of blending family systems through remarriage has grown significantly over the past decade and is evidenced now in the availability of numerous therapeutic and psychoeducational programs, as well as self-help groups and trade literature. Unfortunately, the pursuit of research and theory regarding stepfamilies has not evolved at the same pace as the public’s interest and concern. As a matter of fact, it has taken me over two years to assemble this collection of articles which address the broad intergenerational picture of the stepfamily’s experience.
