ABSTRACT
Previous scholars have established developmental stages or tasks for remarriage, stepfamilies, and stepsibling relations. A parallel set of four developmental stages and corresponding tasks are presented for the transition to stepgrandparenthood. The stages include specific developmental tasks grandparents face as their adult-children marry spouses who have children from previous relationships. Implications of the developmental stages and tasks are presented.
