ABSTRACT
These days one often hears about strategic alliances between Japanese and Western firms. This latest development in international business reflects a new era of cross-border cooperation among the major high-tech firms, particularly from the tripolar centers, namely the United States, Japan and Europe. Most noticeable, Japanese firms have suddenly become very active in this new global game of alliances, especially in high-tech industries.
