ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the critically oriented scholarship in management studies conducted in the Benelux the European cross-national region including Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. The chapter shows how this scholarship relates to the ideas at the core of Critical Management Studies (CMS) and, to a large extent, the broader international community, which has come to identify with it since its origins in the early 1990s. In Belgium, one's can think of the work of Maddy Janssens at KU Leuven, Patrizia Zanoni and Koen Van Laer at Hasselt University. In Luxembourg, Christina Constantinidis, previously at the University of Lige, is currently affiliated with the University of Luxembourg. The critically oriented scholarship of the researchers at Louvain gained in visibility with the publication of a book on CMS theoretical, empirical and educational orientations in French-speaking regions, edited by Laurent and Matthieu de Nanteuil.
