ABSTRACT

Leadership is currently defined as a process of influence involving a leader—the agent who exerts influence—and the followers—the agents subjected to that influence. By influence is meant that some change occurs in the target agent (followers) as a consequence of some act performed by the source agent (the leader). Influence, in these broad terms, is an outcome of power. The capability of the leader to influence the followers is another way of saying that the leader has power over the followers.
