ABSTRACT
This activity is intended to highlight and reinforce positive aspects of the couple relationship.
Rationale for Use Couples, regardless of their sexual orientation, are often so entrenched in the negative pat-
terns in their relationship that it is difficult to see those aspects of the relationship that are valued. Particularly with same-sex couples, outside influences such as discrimination, oppression, and marginalization place an extra burden on existing relationship issues. Couples may find it difficult or impossible to successfully deal with those relationship issues along with those society imposes upon them (Berzon, 1990; DiPlacido, 1998; Morales, 1989).
