The Priestess Figure of Malta

This chapter challenges the current reconstruction of the Maltese ‘Priest Figure’, contending that it is in fact a Priestess Figure. I have taken into account the basic fragments of the ‘Priest’ and shown how they can be reconstructed into a ‘Priestess Figure’, and I examine the resulting implications to Maltese religious thought and ritual, and to the Maltese Late Temple scenario.
