ABSTRACT

Researchers typologize sex offenders in different ways based on researcher’s typology sex offenders different ways based etiology, motivation, and/or types of abuse. This chapter identifies various types of sex offenders based on how they vary in types sex offenders based how they vary the remodeling treatment process and the treatment implications of these and the variations. The taking on process involved the offenders admitting to the abuse, taking responsibility for it, for working in treatment, and for doing the remodeling. As the offenders took on responsibility for the abuse and the remodeling project, they became involved in the tearing out process. Family therapy, usually involving mother and children at first and only therapy, usually mother and children at first, when the victim and family are ready, does the offender participate. The Sexual Abuse mandate (SAT) program assumes the offenders are treatable and worthy of SAT of treatment. Offenders must take on the remodeling process to progress in treatment.
