ABSTRACT
Claudia Roth was a member of the German Green Party and a member of the European Parliament at the time this speech was delivered. EGALITÉ (Equality for Gays and Lesbians in the European Institutions) was a group of European Union staff working to promote gay and lesbian equality in European institutions. Roth's name was associated with the “Equal Rights for Homosexuals and Lesbians in the EU” report, popularly known as the “Roth Report.”
