March 5, 1998 Why a Millennium March on Washington?

This is the text of the statement issued by Reverend Perry, founder and moderator of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches.UFMCC and the Human Rights Campaign were the two organizations which first proposed the idea of the Millennium March on Washington, subsequently held in April 2000. This statement was issued to clarify the reasons UFMCC believed in the worth of such an event.
