ABSTRACT
The Gay Day of the title of the group issuing this manifesto refers to the demonstration of over 200 lesbians and gay men on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario, before the Canadian House of Parliament in support of this document, the text of which was presented to the federal government of Canada in August 1971.This was the first such demonstration in support of gay rights ever held in Canada.
