ABSTRACT

This is the text of an address given to the 1972 convention of the American Bar Association meeting in San Francisco by Richard Hongisto, a professional criminologist and ten-year veteran of the San Francisco police force who had been elected sheriff of San Francisco in 1971. He was speaking at a hearing called by the Resolutions Committee in support of a proposed ABA resolution calling on all the states to pass “consensual sex” legislation. His presentation was one of two “pro” statements presented, the other being by Dr. Donald Lunde of Stanford's medical faculty. No opposing statements were given.
