ABSTRACT

The full title of this speech is “Appeal to the Second International Congress for Sexual Reform on Behalf of an Oppressed Human Variety,” and it was delivered at the meeting of the congress in Copenhagen, Denmark. The text had been prepared by Kurt Hiller of Germany's Scientific Humanitarian Committee, who was unable to attend the Danish meeting due to financial considerations. It was therefore delivered by Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, founder of the committee and then serving as president of the Sexual Reform Congress. The comment about rebutting Monsieur Barbusse refers to Henri Barbusse (1873–1935), a Marxist writer and novelist. This translation was done by John Lauritsen.
