ABSTRACT

This is the text of the farewell message issued to the gay and lesbian community of the state of Washington by veteran local activist Charles F. Brydon, cofounder of the Dorian Group (Washington State's statewide gay and lesbian rights organization), in the spring of 1979 upon his departure for New York City to become co-executive director of the National Gay Task Force (NGTF), succeeding Dr.Bruce Voeller in April 1979. Initiative 13 was a proposal made by a former police officer, David Estes, to repeal Seattle's ordinances banning discrimination in housing and employment on the basis of sexual orientation.
