ABSTRACT

This is the text of the speech delivered to the Platform Committee of the Democratic Party addressing a proposed amendment to the platform placing the party on record as opposing employment discrimination based on gay or lesbian identity. Kraus was at this time an openly gay delegate to the committee. A companion address on this matter was also made to the committee by Virginia Apuzzo. Both speeches were printed in San Francisco's gay newspaper The San Francisco Sentinel on June 27, 1980.
