ABSTRACT
This speech was given at a rally on Daley Plaza in Chicago, Illinois, sponsored by the Illinois Gay and Lesbian Task Force on June 26, 1981, by F. Jay Deacon, at that time the pastor of Good Shepherd Parish of the Metropolitan Community Church in Chicago. Ernest Lefever was a neoconservative ethicist who viewed political and moral debate as degraded by a society estranged from basic Western values.
