ABSTRACT
In this chapter we bring together two historically distinct areas within psychology as they bear on a "real-world" problem. Our purpose is to explore how theoretical and empirical work arising from laboratory studies of causal attribution and information processing in judgment can be examined, extended, applied, and unified in the context of the parole decision.
