ABSTRACT

In general, I agree with almost everything Meichenbaum said. I’ll have some disagreements later, but I agree with most of his presentation. However, he unfortunately follows Michael Mahoney, who has a crusade against the so-called “rationalist” cognitive behavior therapies, such as Don’s original theories and those of Tim Beck (1976), Arnold Lazarus (1989), David Burns (1980), and Maxie Maultsby (1984). But if they all replied to Mahoney and now to Don, they would probably all say that they are not rationalists.
