ABSTRACT
This symposium explores the role of gender in psychoanalytic supervision. Until recently, the impact on supervision on both the conscious and unconscious dimension of gender has not been sufficiently recognized or examined. These effects are pervasive, and often subtle, and they contribute significantly to the complex of transferences which determine the utility and effectiveness of any supervisory relationship.
