ABSTRACT

This paper preceded the unifying notion of justice as a relational dynamic (Boszormenyi-Nagy & Spark, 1973). It does, however, lead toward the formulations of justice and ethics as major determinants of close relationships. Thus, family relationships are assumed to be the vestiges of important resources rather than rigid systems that impede individuation. Naturally, the ethical perspective also allows for the possibility of exploitation of one family member by the other.
