ABSTRACT
At first glance this seems an easy book: It is not very long, the structure is straightforward, the language is simple. Readers, therefore, may be surprised to discover its complexity. It was only when I read this book with care that I discovered Dr. Erickson's active presence in the reveries which were stimulated by reading each tale. Skimming through this book, however, and looking for the voice of Milton Erickson, I did not seem to find it. This is one of those rare books that is simple and yet which deserves an attentive reader.
