ABSTRACT

Dual career couples, spouses who are each highly committed to his/her career, present unique problems in marital therapy. Their special issues include negotiating home and work responsibilities, competition with each other on the job if in the same field, taking care of child responsibilities, and having time for self. Decisions about who cooks dinner or cleans the house, or about whose job takes precedence when promotions require moving to a new location, are routinely required.
