ABSTRACT

Treatment teams have had wide popularity in the family therapy (e.g., Papp, 1980) and supervision (e.g., Liddle & Schwartz, 1983) literatures. A team of clinicians/supervisors observes the session from behind a one-way mirror and provides direction to the therapist or intervenes with the family. Team therapy appears to be clinically effective (Green & Herget, 1989a, 1989b) and is positively evaluated by treatment families (Piercy, Sprenkle, & Constantine, 1986).
