ABSTRACT

Many times, couples in therapy commonly distort the statements made by each other when they are alone with each other. As Richard Bach has stated, one attribute of a successful couple is that they "fight fair." To promote this behavior, I urge couples to prepare a "laundry list" of issues they wish to discuss. Then they are asked to sit down at the kitchen table when no other parties are around and turn on a standard cassette tape recorder, preferably with a 60 or 90 minute tape in it.
