ABSTRACT
Family oriented perspectives and intervention approaches are currently quite popular among mental health professionals. With increasing professional interest in sexual abuse of children, it is natural that “family” models should be applied to understanding and treating the problem of adult sexual use of children. Supporting this interest is a body of professional literature, much of it developed over the last twenty-five years which is referenced time and time again as indicating a connection between various characteristics of families and sexual abuse of children.
