ABSTRACT

In addition to Arthur and Lancelot other Arthurian figures, such as Kay, Perceval, and Gawain, exhibit strong parallels with characters in the Ossetic material. Still others, such as Erec and Tristan, are reflections of historical and documentable Alanic counts 1 or merely retain, like Bedivere, only a linguistic connection to the Alanic language. With this in mind let us take a closer look at the legends of some of these Arthurian heroes.
