ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses family contributions to talent development in gifted children and the ways in which myths, methods, and facts coalesce. In contrast to other populations described in this volume, gifted children are not usually considered at risk, and their families can often call on resources that are unavailable to at-risk populations. Even so, gifted children are not risk free.
