ABSTRACT

The three chapters in this section range from the four Aristotelian causes in relation to creativity, through self-organization in personality development, to domain-specificity in infants’ social–conceptual structures. My specialization is in none of these areas and I doubt that a person who has specialized in all three areas exists. My task has rather been to comment on and to amplify the themes in these chapters especially from the viewpoint of indeterminism–determinism. I comment first on the terminology used in the chapters, then on some features of each chapter, then look for similarities and differences in them and their relation to the indeterminism debate, and, finally, finish with a proposal for a new metaphor of development.
