ABSTRACT
The chapters of this volume have addressed the classic conceptual problem of consensual action in task-oriented groups (committees, panels, juries, etc.). Following discussion, debate, accommodation, compromise, and so on, a collective response represents a synthesis of the many to one solution, report, judgment, choice, or the like.
