ABSTRACT
This paper introduces an algorithm to improve the generalization error of feedforward networks. It reduces the number of patterns needed to describe the classification function. Numerical results on a set of 1024 handwritten digits are provided where we manage to improve the generalization ability of our network by using this scheme.
