ABSTRACT

Nonverbal communication is a popular topic in business publications. Several self-help books on understanding nonverbal behavior have been written for business audiences (e.g., Cooper, 1979; Gschwandtner, 1985). In business periodicals, over 200 articles with the terms nonverbal or body language in the title or abstract appeared in the 1986–1991 time period. These were found through a computer search of the ABI/Inform database, which references general business periodicals and industry-specific trade magazines as well as scholarly business journals.
