Prologue Lawrence Kohlberg's Life and Work from the Vantage of a Long-time Friend and Colleague: A Memoir

Many of the readers of this volume are familiar with Larry Kohlberg the person. Many more are familiar with arrays of Larry Kohlberg’s seminal contributions through the years to theory and application in the fields of psychology, philosophy, and education. In this memoir, I shall mention some lesser known features of the development of Larry’s thinking, and of Larry the person, from his days in the university.
