ABSTRACT
Contributors to this volume are taking part in an important movement to link children’s development to broader familial, cultural, and historical systems. Parental belief systems are particularly intriguing in this context because they are assembled at the crossroads of everyday experiences of parents and the “expert advice” that is circulated through social communication channels.
