ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we turn from animals of the land and air to a highly developed denizen of the sea, the bottlenosed dolphin. Dolphins have long been known for their ability to process acoustic information, and here we learn first about the types of sounds that dolphins produce, and then about how they are sensitive to sound both fundamental psychophysical sense, and then in the perception of complex sounds.
