ABSTRACT

These five exercises are designed to provide an almost completely interactive, non-didactic format for conveying the basic principles and methods of solution-focused work. They are the direct result of opportunities I have had to teach solution-focused methods to service providers who work with the homeless. As a group, these students are remarkable for two things: first, the intensity of their interest in whatever may be helpful to their clients and their eagerness to learn; and second, the educational challenges they present to an instructor.
