ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to identify and discuss ethical dilemmas both unique and common to all active duty military social workers regardless of branch of service or practice setting. The intention of this chapter is not to identify, discuss, and resolve all possible ethical dilemmas faced by military social workers. This would be both unrealistic and impossible. The purpose is, however, to help generate awareness and discussion of these dilemmas and the unique military factors that help to create them. Finally, a suggested outline for resolving ethical dilemmas is presented.
