ABSTRACT
Soldiers, sailors, airmen, retirees, and family members face illness, injury, dismemberment, and death in times of both war and peace. Medical social workers assist these patients and their families in coping with medical conditions, resolving psychosocial issues, and implementing plans for further care and adaptation.
