ABSTRACT
Disaster is, by its very nature, unpredictable and unexpected. The ability of a museum to cope depends on the existence of a plan. It is only possible here to offer guidelines as a disaster plan must be tailored to suit individual needs. Any plan must be adaptable and capable of intelligent interpretation for any set of circumstances.
